May 3, 2010

The Pasadena Bioscience Collaborative (PBC) held an Open House Monday, May 3, 2010, to celebrate their expansion and showcase their tenant companies. President Bruce Blomstrom and Chairman Bill Bogaard invited representatives from industry, education and government.  PBC currently houses 11 tenant companies and has 5 successful graduates.  The companies operate in biotechnology, nanotechnology, engineering and material science.

The PBC, a non-profit organization created to support the growing biotechnology industry, is the result of planning by individuals from many different sectors – government, education, non-profits and private industry.  California State Senator Jack Scott and Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard spearheaded the initiative, resulting in a collaboration that includes a number of key organizational partnerships.
